The Cat and the Dog

(complete tale, 6 min)

An Irish version of Aesop's Tortoise and the Hare

This telling, part of my annual performance in halbNeun Theater, Darmstadt, was recorded on the day after the 2014 Scottish referendum on independence from the UK. So of course the tale's geographical provenance was naturally stretched a bit.

As with many of the tales I tell, this came from the Storytell listserv. It was contributed by Barra the Bard during a thread on Aesop's fables.

If you'd prefer a folk tale where it is the dog who is the clever one, watch The Leopard-Eating Dog.

And if you'd like to come to the next halbNeun Theater performance, that is on 27th Nov. 2015.
