The Devil's Three Golden Hairs

A story with a moral
(complete tale, 18 min)

I was so inspired by hearing Martin Ellrodt tell this Grimms' tale to a group of schoolchildren at last year's Brixen Festival that I soon started working on my own version for adult audiences.

And the moral?

Although I rarely tack one on to a story, the moral I found to state at the end of this tale is surely relevant for everyone setting out into the adult world!

The Norwegian wonder tale, The Giant without a Heart, has many of the same motifs.

This recording was made in Nov. 2015 at a favourite gig, my annual visit to the Schiller-Volkshochschule in Bietigheim.
As always, a wonderful audience and this year larger than ever. (Many thanks for always inviting me back since 1998.)

Next year's performance is already fixed, 8th Nov. 2016.
