Using the video clips in your classroom
Your students will love watching the stories on my website.
Especially for beginners, one of the greatest benefits is simply showing them that they not only understand but also thoroughly enjoy a tale told in English.
More advanced students, as indeed native-speakers, will relish the rich language, the wit, the profundity of these stories as a unique experience.
How to show the videos in class
With internet connection in the classroom
Easy. Just display the video from this page using a projector (Beamer). No internet in the classroom
Also easy. Use Firefox browser and install the free plug-in Video DownloadHelper. Open the page with the videos in Firefox.
The DownloadHelper is shown in the toolbar as the three moving balls on the right.
Next to them is a small drill-down arrow - shown here:
Click on that arrow and a list of the videos available on the webpage will be shown.
Download your selection to your computer, e.g. to your Desktop. This may take a few minutes.
Once saved, simply play the videos, using a media player such as the free VLC, which you can download here.
